Indonesian Delegation Arrived At Tunis

TUNIS, TUNISIA – The Indonesian delegation of the Global Peace Convoy (GPC) arrived in Tunis, Tunisia, on Sunday (September 7, 2025). The group departed from Jakarta on Saturday (September 6) at 9:00 p.m. WIB and landed at Tunis Carthage Airport at 9:00 a.m. local time aboard Turkish Airlines.

Upon arrival in Tunisia, the delegation was welcomed by staff from the Indonesian Embassy as well as Indonesian volunteers. Their visit aims to send off the Indonesian Global Peace Convoy, which will break through the Gaza blockade alongside delegations from various countries.

The Indonesian delegation in Tunisia numbers 67 people, 33 of whom will board ships. In total, the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) has prepared 65 vessels: 24 from Spain, 21 from Tunisia, 18 from Italy, and 2 from Greece. Several additional ships are still in the process of being purchased.

The convoy’s planned departure from Tunisia had been delayed due to severe weather in Spain. However, the sailing is confirmed to begin on September 7. The delay is said to have had a positive impact by providing an opportunity to increase the number of ships.

Previously, Indonesian volunteers participating in the Global Peace Convoy had arrived earlier in Tunisia since late August to prepare for departure. Those departing from Tunisia will later join other groups departing from Barcelona, Spain, before heading together toward Gaza.
